backpacking with A6000

When backpacking I like to carry my camera on my pack's hipbelt. That way if I see a shot while trekking along I can get to the camera quickly without taking off my pack. The A6000 with 16-50PZ is ideal for this (I'll tolerate the lens quality for the convenience...though thinking maybe I'll just put on the Sigma 30mm instead - but don't want to carry an extra lens).

BUT -  so far all the bags I've found for A6000 are either too large (and then they bounce around and while I hike) or, if small and snug (e.g. neoprene case) don't have a loop where you can attach them - also concerned about whether the neoprene offers enough protection.

Any ideas? If not on the pack's hip belt, maybe on the chest strap? What do fellow backpackers do?
