Yes, fast and precise AF system is key for me. I shoot tango dances where dim lights are common. No tripod or flash is allowed. I use a 5DII and a 5DIII in AI Servo at ISO 3200-6400.So far I have been using a 50 mm 1.4 and a 85 1.8 and have been relatively happy with them for tango shooting.

Unfortunately, the AF drive in the 50 mm just died. Rethinking in buying another one (or replacing/fixing the drive = about $200). Personally I like the 1.4 lens because of fast aperture, optics, size and price. However, in low light I find this lens hunts on both of my 5Ds. Thus I am willing to spend more money to replace it provided the AF efficiency under dim light in the alternative lens is a step above this lens.

I have heard good things about the optics in the Sigma 35 mm 1.4 and the Canon 35 mm 2 IS. However, I want to hear from those that have used them under dim light in AI Servo for action or dancing shots. Are these two lenses also "hunters" like the 50 mm 1.4? Any other alternatives? A 2.8 lens is way too slow, maybe the Canon F2 is also too slow?
