Best Camera for <$550

I've been hearing great reviews on the G3. My needs require the camera to be powerful, great for taking shots anywhere and developing. Possible Poster sizes would be nice, but not crucial. Telephoto is nice but don't need in excess of 4x. I love outdoor and natural shots as well as ability to take good macros. What do you professionals recommend for me?
