RX100M3 and that nasty High ISO Noise Reduction

In a lot of the RX100M3 JPEG's I've seen I've noticed smudging of fine detail and odd artifacts, so I've been keen to examine the effect of High ISO noise reduction plays in this.

Here's a 100% crops I shot this morning of my daughters doll at ISO 800:

Notice the fine detail lost in the fabric in the effort to filter out noise - I'd prefer a bit of noise myself. Sony seem to be selectively applying noise reduction here, but it makes the image look worse as it has an uneven, blotchy look.

I've also thrown in a RAW conversion from Sony's Image Data Converter. It's just using the default settings, which applies some noise reduction, but a lot less destructively than the JPEG engine.
