Mac setup and dual screen calibration?

I own a 13" MacBook Air, hooked up to a 27" Thunderbolt display. Both are calibrated individually using Spyder4. However, the colors vary (drastically) between the two screens. I guess that's to be expected. It's no help choosing the same color profile either, because they both render colors differently in the first place.

In general, my laptop screen has a blueish tint, while the large screen has a yellowish tint. I was hoping to use a dual-screen setup for editing in Lightroom/Aperture, but with the current diverging color rendition, it's obviously sub optimal, not to say utterly useless.

The big question then, is, how does one achieve uniform color rendition across two different screens?

I might be thick as a plank on this, but regardless, any help would be greatly appreciated!
