Agreed except for your statement 'The weight is great'.

The weight and size of this lens belies the whole concept of a smaller mirror less camera.

The concept is to be able to take good photographs, and to be able to use lenses from all over.

If the lens is a bit heavy, why would you want to add more weight ?

Why not just put up with a little more weight and size and just shoot with a much more capable SLR?

Better CanNikon lens selection, quicker camera in AF, and just all around better IQ when shooting FullFrame?

But FF DSLRs are massive. An A7 would be slower focussing than an A6000, but its image quality would be the same as that of an SLR using the same sensor.

As for your your GH4 shots, Sorry, they just look like they could have been taken with almost any Point & Shoot.

Yes. Agreed.

The concept IS to take good photographs.

Which was kind of my point.

Is not a little more weight worth the effort for better IQ and performance?

I Love my A7r as a cheaper backup for my Leica's, and as a FF, it delivers the goods.

However, the A7r does not compete well with my Nikon systems for action and higher ISO settings.

Once you start putting on real quality lenses on the A7r or A6000 for that matter, the camera grows quite a bit in size and weight.

My experience anyway.
