FZ-10000 400 equivalent means what on this camera
Jun 16, 2014

I usually shoot Canon DSLR with a 1.6 X multiple or a 400 mm lens is 640 mm. and my 150-600mm = 240mm-960mm.

I'm interested in the FZ1000 to lessen my load since I'm getting older and weaker. I used to own and love the FZ50 but changed to the DSLR when it became apparent Panasonic wasn't going to up-grade the 1.7" sensor.

My Sensor chart states that the multiple on a 1" sensor is 2.71. The add for the FZ1000 says 25-400mm equivalent. Is that 35mm equivalent 400 mm = 400 mm or 400 mm X 2.71 X = 1084mm? I can't remember how that worked on the P&S cameras

It looks like Panasonis finally up-graded the FZ50.
