Leica Likely to Introduce Red Dot Version of FZ1000
Jun 15, 2014

For a number of years, Leica has offered its customers what I like to refer to as the Red Dot FZ. The renowned lens and camera manufacturer has a successful partnership with Panasonic and has developed its own versions of the FZ and LX cameras. The bodies are basically the same as the Panasonic, but offer some tweaks to the software, are rebadged Leica, and usually come with processing software. Oh, and by the way, tend to run about twice the cost of the Panasonic version. It's debated often whether there is enough difference to merit the price increase, but remember, when you are shopping for Leica, you generally don't ask the price to start with.

So, my guess is that Leica will be coming out later this year with their versions of the LX8 and the FZ1000. These, historically, have been designated as the DLux and VLux models.

If life is, indeed, a journey, ask yourself how you can make it as interesting as possible, so that at each day's end, you can give a good accounting of what you have learned.
