Thanks, Australia is short on historic buildings and this one is obviously from a later Art Deco period but like  everywhere where you live with history the locals "get used to it" and the scenery fades into the background.  Luckily the council has had the sense to try and preserve these buildings.  But to get a true sense of the original you have to excise the modern clutter surrounding it (as you observed).

Thanks for the comment, having people enjoy helps make the effort worth while.

This type of image is an interesting concept in art.  A good sketch artist with talent could rough this up far quicker than my painstakingly slow manipulation and of course the original photograph only took "a second".
