Excellent capture Roel - seen the moment - presumably the selfie was to capture the cherub apparently spouting water over her head ...

Don't let out the location, bound to become a selfie hot spot ...

That little statue is the quite famous "Manneken Pis" (Little Man Pee) in Brussels.

Indeed a hotspot of Brussels tourism and not only for selfies (and has been so since long before the advent of smartphones).

He even has his own website, showing (among other things) the different constumes custom-made for him : http://www.manneken-pis.be/

Roel, your added background on the background alters my understanding of the picture. It becomes more than a selfie portrait. It has more of the "we were there" element of the many family-album snaps of people lined up in front of monuments, grand buildings, and natural wonders.

An obvious premise of pose-with-monument shots seems contradictory. On one hand it's an assertion of sharing group behavior (I also do what you do), and on the other hand it's an assertion of special achievement (I, the world-wise traveler).

In any case, yours is a charming picture: serious-gear photog takes a break.

Here are a few more people shooting at that location (all of them collecting evidence that they were there):
