Which File View Is Best To Show IQ?
Jun 9, 2014

I am a novice to photography and digital cameras.

I am confused as to which file view shows the actual picture quality. When I click on posted pictures here in the forums, I see a few different choices of how to view the picture: fit to screen, 1:1 view 100%, and view original.

Which view reveals the true image quality of the picture and the IQ capability of the camera?

I imagine the true image quality has to do with the megapixel size of the particular picture and whether or not the picture is blown up (stretched?) or even cropped beyond its original parameters.

Did I just answer my own question? Is "view original" the choice that best represents the image quality of a picture and the IQ capability of a camera?
