The American Avocet in breeding plumage (the head and neck are pink at breeding time and white at other times). I used to see them in the mountains of Northeastern California.
I agree with others that the shot is overexposed....but a little tweaking and they'll be great. I love the minimalist look of the first shot. Nicely taken!
