Is the Olympus 12-40 F/2.8 soft at 40mm?
Jun 5, 2014

For you folks who own this lens does your copy soften up towards the 40mm range? I've read a few lens reviews that mention that the lens is a bit soft at 40mm but then others that say their copy is sharp throughout the whole range. So, are their good copies and lesser copies of this lens floating around or do people just have different ideas on what is soft? I have one on order so I guess I'll find out on my own soon enough but just wondered what I can expect. Also, will I notice more CA with this lens used on my EM-5 than if I owned a OM10 or EM1 and how much CA should I expect? I know the EM-1 is a better camera than my EM-5 but would a OM-10 be considered an upgrade? Thanks
