Corporate running creative is never good. Defining the message? Yes. Handling creative? No. Maybe with Steve Jobs at the helm (and, if anyone has noticed, Jobs, himself didn't take full control of advertising), but he was an example of the rarest of executives: the effective micromanager.

Then again, the quality of advertising ain't what it used to be, anyway. So maybe Apple ads will kick butt.
