Not quite.  The centre point works at f8 when using the AF 500mm Reflex.  It's something that is commonly overlooked.

The AF on the NEX-7 is disabled when the adapter is used, the adapter has its own SLT and PDAF module so should, in theory, perform the same as a PDAF module in the A99 (or at least the A65).
