Tips for AF fine tune with a WA lens on a D7100
3 months ago

Just got myself a brand new Tokina 12-28 f4 lens - my old 12-24 f4 died after a long and enjoyable life and after hearing quite good reviews I replaced it with its successor. However it doesn't appear to be quite as sharp as my old one/per reviews of this lens. I am no pro by any means, but I think it may be an issue with front/back focussing-in the past I had a Nikon D90 which didn't have AF fine tune settings so I never worried, but having recently upgraded to a D7100 which does, how do (amateur) people out there test for front/back focusing, and then dial in the amount for correction in camera? Any simple ways to test this that I can set up at home or do I require some specialised equipment - any help would be greatly appreciated!
