leica x-vario f-stops
Yesterday I had a good look at the x-vario. I know this has it's limitations, but the one limitation which is giving me concern is the whole exp. value jumps on shooting parameters, particularly with aperture. On the Av dial there is 3.5, 4, 5.6, 8, 11. I assume that if one selects f/4 then the camera will select the fast Av available at whichever focal length one dials in, but it seems that fine-tuning to f/71, f/4.5 etc is not an option? Am I right in also thinking that the metering will provide a shutterspeed appropriate to the scene, i.e. 1/3 e.v. steps to ensure correct exposure if the Tv is set to A and the Av is such that a "whole number" speed is wrong?
