Actually I prefer the compactness and IQ of the later Minolta 35mm 2.8f to the extra stop of the 1.8f.

That is why the Canon 2.8 also appeals to me instead of the 2.0 sibling.

You may also keep  in mind that, the bigger the front element, the worse it flares, even with hood.

I still don't know if I going for a 35mm lens. My Sigma 30mm is in fact a 36mm 2.8f lens when used with the a7 after cropping, and it delivers outstanding IQ.

On top of that, I am very fond of the DMF feature - this is one of the most ingenious trick I have seem in a camera. And I can use with the Sigma.

I´ll be peeking Ebay and the buy/sell foruns around in order to get a 35 mm MF lens. Just to check if it can replace the Sigma.
