Today's SX50 garden image is not a flower . . .

. . . but a Robin tending her nest well protected in the deep shade from the bright sun or the weather, such that I almost passed her right by. But you know when you get the sense that you're being watched? She certainly had her eye on me, so I returned the favor:

There'll be a new family in my gardens soon.

This image was cropped a little to eliminate extensive blown highlights around the perimeter from the very bright sun dappling through the greenery. I also had to adjust the exposure a bit in the raw conversion to accommodate the very dark shadows the nest was in. This is one of the reasons I like to shoot raw for when the subject matter is in a very high contrast scene.
