"Sony Ci" Cloud Storage and Collaborative Video Editing

NOTE: THIS IS A REPOST BECAUSE I REQUESTED MARTI TO DELETE MY ORIGINAL POST. I HAD (INADVERTENTLY) LEFT SOME DATA IN THE LINK ON THE REGISTERATION (THANKS MARTI).

I found this and wondered if others would be interested. I am excited about things Sony is doing.

Last September Sony set up a Cloud site for collaborative video editing and storage. I registered and uploaded a short video clip I shot with my A99 to see what the workflow was like. It was simple and seems to be great for a team project. In the next few days I will do a much more in depth trial of the site capabilities (using my A99).

You can look at the registration site at:

https://www.sonymcs.com/

The site works best with Chrome.

Some information from the site:

1. Upload. Drag and drop your video files into Ci and experience blazing fast upload speeds in excess of 400kb/s. Most popular file formats are supported, including high frame rate (HFR) 3-D and 4K. Your uploads are encrypted automatically using 256-bit encryption.

2. Edit. Launch RoughCut, and start a new session with the files you want to edit. Use the range selector to mark in and out points, and create new clips to stitch together. Seamlessly mix and match file types and frame rates without rendering. And if you’re a pro, you can export EDL markers to Final Cut Pro or Avid to relink your master files.

3. Share. Click “share” to add the email address of the recipient(s) you want to send your video to. The recipient will open their email and click your link to launch a full size streaming version of your newly edited video. No login or password needed
