Heron, Teal & Oystercatchers

These shots are from earlier this year, taken on the SE Coast of Australia.
I was on an early morning walk around the shoreline and found a mix of species happily sharing the bounty of a large bed of kelp that had been washed up on the rocks.


Here's a White-faced Heron working its way through the crowd . . .


And a shot focussing on the pair of Sooty Oystercatchers


and a pair of Chestnut Teal
The drake is taking a rest, and the duck seems to have a piece of kelp stuck in her mouth
