Wrist strap/grip fpr X-T1?
May 24, 2014

I used to use a Hama wrist strap (see link below) on my 5D2 but it doesn't work very well on my new X-T1 as it puts my hand in an uncomfortable position too low down to be able to operate the top plate controls with ease.

The Hama attaches to the tripod socket via a small plate which is attached to a strap which in turn is attached to the RH strap fitting of the camera. The strap has a comfortable leather pad and in use you simply slid your hand between it and the camera so that it holds your hand and the camera very securely together. It is not like the often recommended Gordy type of design which doesn’t help to support the camera like the Hama.

I've tried other wrist straps e.g. OpTech but they attach to the wrist and it takes too long to get them on and off.

Has anyone found something similar to the Hama design which works well?
