A suggestion....... in case you plan to visit the picturesque city of York (or any other old cathedral city in the UK). I strongly recommend you make use of, and leave your car at one of the out-lying "Park-and- (bus) Ride" locations. This to avoid the hassle of one-way systems, traffic congestion and narrow winding streets in a city centre not originally designed for the motor car (!).

Sorry I hadn't checked back on this thread and missed this when you first posted it.

Have been reading reviews of Garmin GPS units and there are so many models, the mind is boggled.

When I read how well they did navigating you through roundabouts it greatly relieved my anxiety about UK driving!
