Keeping The Circular Polarising Filter Permanently On The Camera
7 months ago

Hi folks,

I'm a bit of a novice where all of this is concerned so apologies if this seems like a dumb question.

I have a circular polarising filter which I use on my Canon G1X mk1.  I understand the way it works in that you turn the ring and everything you see gradually changes in appearance so that it takes the glare off subjects, makes the skies a bit bluer, cuts through water glare etc.

But, as this is done as you twist the ring, why not just leave the filter on the camera permanently for outdoor work.  Is there a reason to remove it?

Thanks in advance.
