Of course I tried that. 1/60 isn't anything to write home about. 1/125 and up is fine on stationary objects. 
The reason why I did the moving object test is that when I was young and stupid, I used to take US Open Tennis pictures for AP. Canon had just introduced their anti-shake lenses, and, when engaged, shake suppression really interfered with trailing the object. a99 body has this feature built in, and I wanted to see whether it is superior to in-lens shake suppression.

The lens isn't stellar at 2.8, but gets better even with one stop down.
