what's the problem here?

what's the problem here?

These were all taken with the x-e1+ 55-200 combo. I was really pleased with it's results, but lately the lens seems to have serious focussing issues.

I am the type of person that always blames his own lack of skill first, but in these shots I had my focus window right on the birds and focussed in manual with the AE-L/AF-L button. I think the background in both pictures starts about 1m behind the bird. I really can't see what I did wrong.

These are just 2 examples BTW. I had many more like these, but deleted most of them right away. I kept these in case I need to return my lens and need proof. Luckily I had the chance of manual focussing the kingfisher in the second example to get a sharp shot.  No such lucky in case of the first picture, which was my best chance of getting a good shot of a lilac-breasted roller.
