In DPR's RX100M3 First Impressions Review, they show a chart of full frame aperture equivalence:

What a little alarming here is how quickly the RX100M3 hits its f/2.8 as its minimum aperture.

The great thing about the RX100 and RX100M2 is that they are f/1.8 at 28mm, which is a very usable focal length for general photography. The 24mm is too wide, and when you get to 28mm it looks to me like the RX100M3 is going to be a full 1 stop slower.

Of course the RX100M3 enjoys a 1 stop advantage at 70mm, but I'm not prepared to give up 1 stop at 28mm for it.

Others will differ of course, but those are my thoughts.
