What will XAVC S mean for the future of AVCHD?

Sony now slowly introduces XAVC S as a higher bit rate alternative to AVCHD with the road open to 4k, but will the formats coexist for any length of time? XAVC S on blu ray leave some issues according to some people in the trade. Will we see a 50Mbit/s version of AVCHD or does the RX10 in PS mode 28Mbit/s represent the final level of that format? The RX 100M3 might give us some clues.
