Why not just ditch the SLT?

Why don't Sony just use that A6000 image sensor with 179 phase detect sensors on the A77MKII and just get rid of that light sapping semi translucent mirror? Yes, that new AF chip on the A77MKII has 79 PDAF points but it only covers 40% while the on sensor 179 PDAF of the A6000 covers almost the entire frame. So why keep that mirror? Unless there is a big advantage using a separate AF chip. What gives???
