Does this type of camera exist?
May 13, 2014

Can someone help me here, I'm confused.

I love DSLRs and Canon in particular, I'm considering getting an EOS 100D shortly as it seems almost perfect for my requirements i.e. a small DSLR with an optical viewfinder.  However it is very plastic looking.

I see a lot of so called Compact System cameras now such as the Olympus OM-D and Fuji XT-1 which have the classic styling and dials that I love, but they all seem to be mirror-less with wretched electronic viewfinders, despite sporting a prism hump.  (What's the point if there's no prism?)

So my question is, is there any camera like this, a fairly diminutive classically-styled and quality camera with an optical viewfinder, and if not, why not?!  Seems to me these bodies could certainly encompass one - if Canon can in a camera weighing less than 400g it's obviously possible.

Canon EOS Rebel SL1 (EOS 100D)
