That's because it's a micro USB 3.0 cable. Most USB 3.0 connectors have a colored insert in the standard-A end denoting that it is USB 3.0. Not all of them do but the micro-B end is a dead giveaway that it is a USB 3.0 cable. The USB 3.0 cable that comes with the Nikon D800 has one standard-A end and a micro-B end.
