A77II vs 70D?
May 10, 2014

Two cameras I'm considering for next year: A77II, Canon 70D. Don't currently own any DSLR, and thinking of getting one for shots where smaller cameras can't (yet) match them. Mainly want it for macro (thinking of getting the Sigma 150mm), telephoto and fast moving subjects. Would also probably get a general zoom lens, and the Sony 16-50 f2.8 seems rather nice.

Do you think the A77II will have the better, cleaner sensor output? I had a 60D, and from what I've read the 70D is only slightly better than 60D for high ISO, but mostly with its JPEGs. Never had a Sony SLT, and no sure how its output compares to Canon's crop sensors, but I have seen many complain about noise in the A77's output.

Also, is the loss of light due to the SLT mirror a real consideration in comparing these cameras?
