2560x1440 resolution 27" monitor for photo editing
May 10, 2014

I'm after a good 27" 2560x1440 resolution monitor for photo/video editing. Just for home/amature work.

I'm thinking of the Dell Ultrasharp U2713HM or Iiyama XB2779QS, both sell at around Euro 480,= at the moment. Reading reviews of these screens I noticed that both get a very good review but both seem to suffer from backlight bleeding. Don't know if that's a reason to stay away from these.

Anyone uses these monitors for photo editing work... and how do these perform? How troublesome is the backlight bleeding?

I've also been considering the sligtly higher priced models like Dell Ultrasharp U2713H (600,=) and Eizo FlexScan EV2736W (630,=) which are supposed to be better suited for photo editing work. But I don't understand much of all the technical information provided in the review so find it hard to judge what added value these will provide me. Are these worth the extra costs? What added value would these screens bring me as an beginner in photo editing.

Any recommendations for other monitors that I should consider?

What monitor specifications are important to look for when selecting a monitor for photo editing?

Thanks. Michel
