Believe it or not, I actually don't know.

See, in Ontario, there's this "harmonized" sales tax going on. I was stunned by the bill the last time I went to Ontario and bought something there. I live in Quebec so we get both the GST and QST (provincial).

I'm not sure about online orders. I did order my computer parts from NCIX Canada. The 5% GST applied, but since I live in Quebec, I have to pay the full provincial tax on top of that, but apparently it's a Quebec-only thing. I sincerely did not pay attention.

Other Canadians may be better references than I am.

EDIT: I just did a dry-run of ordering a 77mm lens cap from Henry's, a Canadian photography retailer. I get $2.00 tax on a $40.00 subtotal ($30 cap + $10 shipping), which is 5%, which in turn translates to the GST of 5%.

Funny. Aren't I supposed to pay the full 15% (well, 14.975% or something) since I live in Quebec?
