I've experienced similar as well. One very well reviewed store in San Diego.

My point is it would be nice if we could judge them on their crappy/good service alone rather than the added factor that they are forced to charge $250 more for a Df.

And just so we are clear- I am all for the abolishment of a sales tax all together if that is what it would take. But I don't live in fantasy "what if" land.

It is amazing to me when I travel abroad, the amount of small businesses that are still very much viable because the government doesn't favor one business model over another. And it seems, the types of merchant-customer relationships that were the norm here.

And on top of that- they may give you back the VAT you paid at the airport!
