As long as the customer knows that before making buying, then that's fair to all, I think.

I am letting you "know" that if you are buying from amazon, etc. that has a liberal return policy - chances are you may get a previously returned item. Fair 'nough?

So it's not only a tax savings, which is often off-set by shipping fees,

Are you kidding me? Here I am thinking you earnest in your position and you throw that in! That is a laugh riot! "Darn amazon charged me $262 to ship my D800, harumph!" What an outlandish thing to say- especially when many of them ship items for free.
