The PASM dial on the DF is a necessity for the camera to use all former Nikon lenses. Fuji designed everything from scratch only recently and the lenses were designed to be used with a system where they have an A on the aperture rings and an A on the speed dial which eliminates the need for a PASM dial. To criticize Nikon on this decision is totally rediculous. Show me one other company that can still use without adapters lenses that date back to the 50's.

It isn't its presence but its design that's been widely criticised for being needlessly cumbersome by numerous people and reviews.
