Does Canon 5D III or 1D x have "Catch-In-Focus"?
May 6, 2014

I was reading in the Fuji thread where a user referred to a feature on their Pentax K-5 and K-3 which they called "Catch-In-Focus". This feature supposedly causes the camera to fire when a subject comes into focus.  Don't know if you are in AF or MF mode to use this.  I had never heard of such a feature but I've seen some reference to it when I do a search. The poster actually uses this feature for taking pictures at auto races. His camera will take a picture automatically when the car comes into focus.

Does anyone know about this feature in any cameras and do any of the Canon bodies have it?

Apparently some people appear to call this feature "Focus Trap" as well.

If you know more please let me know.  Thanks in advance.
