Using an IR Remote to do CIF.
May 5, 2014

Hi foks,

Forum member ozdean (Dean) sent me a PM asking about using an IR Remote (any one made for Pentax will work) for doing Catch-in-Focusing (CIF). In August 2010 I wrote about it using a Pentax K-7. Well, the process is the same for the K20D, K-7, K-5, K-5 II, K-5 IIs, and K-3. Only the menu item numbers will be different. The most important part of what I wrote is that you have to "prime" the process. Read about it at:

Carl - 'What do you mean? It will only take 1/1000s.'
'Keep your eyes looking forward. However, glance back now and then to see where you've come from. It will put a smile on your face.' ~ brandrx
