I decided to get the a6000 to be my "carry everywhere" and travel camera. But I need to get a better understanding of the 2 lenses that I have options of.

The kit lens is a 16-50mm E-Mount Lens, and there is another, more expensive kit that has the Vario-Tessar T* E 16-70mm F4 ZA OSS Lens. And there is always the kit that has both.

So should I get the 16-50, 16-70 or both. What are the pros and cons of each?

This is what I tend to shoot, if that helps:

- HDR (mostly nature, buildings, etc.)

- Fast moving kids

- Street photography

- General life documentation

Currently, the discounted (US) price of the E1670 ($700) compares negative to the discounted pricing of the E1650 ($150) plus the E35 ($400).

I would get the E1650 plus the E35 for starters. It sounds silly, the but the E35 is a much nicer lens to use indoors and in low light.

Unless you shoot a lot at 60mm and f/4, the E1650 covers pretty much the same FOV, and perhaps you lose a stop (at longer FL), but you don't lose much in sharpness, especially if both zooms are used stopped down.

For the price delta, ($150), get a Gariz' case. Or apply it to the E50/OSS (or FE85/OSS when out).
