Well maybe I was wrong, it was not f2 but f2.8 up to f5.6 for the 50mm f1.4 specifically. And yes the corners get better when stopping down but the center gets worse. So the maximum resolution at f8 is worse than at f2.8 ! If you can read a MFT chart that is. But from other posts I saw that you just like to contradict We are talking about resolution here which is measured by the MFT chart. The only thing that gets better at apertures smaller than f2.8 or f4 ( on this particular lens) is corner sharpness and vignetting. But as I said center sharpness gets worse.

Also another thing that people confuse with sharpness is chromatic aberation which can be higher at wide aperture. But it can also be easily corrected in post, something you cannot do with resolution. If a line of certain thikness is not read by the sensor because it is blurred by the lens, you cannot recreate it by sharpenning.
