Rokinon 85/1.4 on Fuji X-T1 examples
6

I am a fan of 135mm equivalent focal length. To me it is a perfect length for all sorts of portraits. At one point I posted a series of photographs I took with XE1 and Nikkor 85 1.4D

I don't have that lens anymore, since i shoot Canon now so I picked up a Rokinon 85/1.4 which is a pretty cheap lens (under $300). I picked up the one in Canon mount so I can cross-use it with Canon, X-mount also exists, but I believe it might be a little longer. It came today and I took a few samples. The focusing ring is kind of stiff compare to top lenses from big brands. However, I was expecting softness at wide apertures (one reason I also considered a Contax Zeiss 90mm 2.8 which is similarly priced for used samples) but it turned out that sharpness at wide apertures is there, at least in the center where I care (I got it for portrait use).

These all were shot either at F/1.4 or F/2. Click on for 100% to examine for sharpness
