I agree with you on that but for someone taking an extended vacation traveling over long distances I could see it's usefulness and would probably use it under those circumstances.

This is exactly my main use for the camera. Travel photography and I do it a fair amount. I still don't feel the need for it

But of course I couldn't tell what others need or don't need.
