Fine tuning Nikon 85 1.4 to my D4???

I recently purchased a Spyder Lens Cal to calibrate my 85 1.4G to my D4. I don't know that I have quite dialed it in yet, but it appears that +17 is pretty close. After speaking with my local NPS rep, he stated that I should never have to adjust a prime that much, and if that were the case, I should send the lens into Nikon for service. My settings while running the test were as follows, aperture mode, ISO 400, F1.4. The reason that I"m providing the settings is because the NPS rep also stated that the lens should be at least 2.8, if not F4, because that is where the lens is probably its sharpest. I never shoot this lens other than wide open, so wouldn't I want to test and set the lens based at shooting at 1.4? Anyone with experience here that can help. Thank you in advance!
