I noticed you wrote DH1748 (should be 1758, the first two represent 1.7x, the last two thread size which is 58mm). As Justin pointed out, make sure you get DH1758 and not an imitation.

Thanks Einstein's Ghost. That was a typo, and the e-store called me back and said they didn't have it, so cancelled order. Maybe I can find a used one?

Using A-mount lenses with the EA1, EA2, EA3, or EA4 adapters is another (more exoensive) option, isn't it? Would love to hear more about that option.

Using A-mount is definitely an option and in fact one I use. I wasn't using 55-210 enough and favored the beercan so I sold it (beercan has the advantage of being faster and constant aperture, useful on both camera bodies... AF speed is just okay though... the later gen appears faster but I don't use it much).

But, considering Tamron 70-300 USD is definitely one, or Sigma 70-300 HSM OS if you want OS and can find one.
