I noticed you wrote DH1748 (should be 1758, the first two represent 1.7x, the last two thread size which is 58mm). As Justin pointed out, make sure you get DH1758 and not an imitation.

Thanks Einstein's Ghost. That was a typo, and the e-store called me back and said they didn't have it, so cancelled order. Maybe I can find a used one?

Using A-mount lenses with the EA1, EA2, EA3, or EA4 adapters is another (more exoensive) option, isn't it? Would love to hear more about that option.

That might help or not. I have not really looked at these. I am guessing the orig price was cheap, like around $25... but that is an educated guess. They must not have been very popular as Sony discontinued them. Honestly there are quite a few of this type of converter around and many likely will work without issue. An adequate size is important like bigger than the filter.

These TCs were quite expensive actually (IIRC, close to $300). Two of the best:

Minolta 70-210/4 with HG1758 (this was TC for a video camera, IIRC), much bigger and heavier than the DH1758 (IIRC, this was for a Cybershot) mounted here on E55-210. I wouldn't put HG1758 on the E55-210 (the beercan can handle it, also because it does not extend with zoom while the E55-210 gets as long as the beercan at 210mm).
