Where does 6D image quality pull ahead of 1DsMkIII?
Apr 27, 2014

Am looking at the possibility of a Canon 6D for Northern Light photos. The light weight and size may be a plus for some things as well.

Currently shoot a 1DsMkIII and the image quality is superb at the ISO settings I generally use - 200, occasionaly 400 and every now and then higher.

Figuring prints the same size, same lenses - where would I notice an actual improvement in imge quality?

Have shot a Fuji X-Pro1 and X-E2 and stay with the Canon as at the ISO settings I usually use the Canon is just that - much - better. A difference that can be seen in prints.

So, if I go lighter in weight it will have to wait unless the 6D might do the trick. Not living within 3 hours of where I can try a 6D  but may take the drive if I can shoot with it a bit.
