I've looked at the original file. Cats eyes are in focus. Shutter fast enough to freeze subjects (in this situation). Shooting at smaller apertures would have bumped up ISO or lowered shutter speed, I don't think it would have been worth whatever it was supposed to do. Shooting at a faster shutter speed for a lower ISO would have been risky too (noisy pics are better than blurry pics). In low light, you have to take the pics you can take.
