Taking an A77 on safari - do I need a bigger lens?

Hi everyone,

Hopefully someone here has some experience with safaris or wildlife photography and will be able to give me some guidance. I'm off to Kenya in the autumn and have five days in the Maasai Mara game park, so I'm planning on taking some wildlife photos.

I have an A77 (which is still a great camera) and a Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 G lens as well as the Sony SAL20TC 2.0x tele converter. Am I going to be able to get any good shots with this set-up, or do I need to sit down, take a deep breath and look at a longer lens? If so, which one would be a good bet?

Also, any hints and tips about getting the best shots would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Mike.
