Nikon can easily make a camera capable of shooting at 10 fps. They made a full-frame camera capable of that years ago . . . the D3. Their current V3 can shoot 18 MP photos at 60 fps! Including GPS and wi-fi would give it an advantage over the Sony A77 (though it still would not have a fold-out screen . . . unless they put a 3.2" fold-out screen on the D9300).

They can flap a mirror 10 frames per second. But so far they haven't done so cheaply. I think its tough to move the mirror that fast and it allows less times for the AF sytem to work. Reading the sensor that fast is no longer the issue. Hence the V3 and A77 high frame rates
